University of York, Heslington, York, YO10 5DD

BY BUS
There are frequent buses between the city centre, train station, and Campus West via the number 66 and 44. Ensure you alight at the University Way stop and follow campus signage to your desired location.
BY TRAIN
York has good public transport links. Trains to York from London take just under two hours, with trains from Edinburgh taking just under two and a half hours.
BY CAR
Directions from A64:
Follow the outer ring road (A64 S&E), take the exit for York (S&E)/Fulford/A19. When reaching the roundabout at the end of the slip road take the exit for York/Fulford A19. Continue along A19 heading towards York City Centre, you will pass The Bay Horse public house on your right. At the traffic lights ensure you are in the right hand lane and turn right into Heslington Lane. Continue along Heslington Lane until you reach a mini roundabout. Take the second exit and follow signs for the University, Heslington Lane. As you continue on Heslington Lane you will pass Fulford Golf Club on your right.
For Information Centre South continue along Heslington Lane, shortly after passing Fulford Golf Club take the next left onto Newton Way. Continue along Newton Way and park in either Car Park South or West.
For Information Centre North continue along Heslington Lane passing Fulford Golf Club on your right. Heslington Lane turns into Main Street as you enter the village of Heslington. At the T-Junction turn left (one way system is in place) onto University Road, you will pass Heslington Hall on your left. Continue along University Road and at the roundabout take the first exit. You will pass under a footbridge as you continue on University Road. Car Park Central is located shortly after the footbridge, once parked follow signs for Market Square/ Information Centre. If you are dropping off you can continue along University Road until you reach the second footbridge. Shortly after take the left onto Vanbrugh Way. Parking is available for 1 hour in the car park located on your left (signposted).

Parking
Parking is available across Heslington West Campus on a pay and display basis. Pre-paid parking permits can be purchased by calling York Conferences on 01904 328431 and sent out via post or collection on arrival. There are a number of disabled bays also available, please call 01904 328431 and a member of the Conference team can advise to the most suitable location. Car parking is charged at £1 per hour and is free from 6pm – 8am and on weekends.

If you’re flying to the UK, choose Leeds-Bradford or Manchester airports. Trains from Leeds to York are frequent and take less than 25 minutes. Trains direct to York from Manchester Airport take approximately one and a half hours.

BY TRAIN
York has good public transport links. Trains to York from London take just under two hours, with trains from Edinburgh taking just under two and a half hours. A taxi from the station to York Conferences venues on Heslington West or Heslington East will cost approximately £10.
BY CAR
Directions from the A64:
Follow the outer ring road (A64 S&E or A1237 N&W) to the Hull/Bridlington (A1079/A166) roundabout. At the roundabout follow the road to York past B&Q on the right. At the next roundabout merge in to the left hand lane and turn left following signs for University of York. Go straight over the next roundabout (Campus East buildings in front of you). At the small roundabout turn left, you will see Field Lane car park and bus stops on your right hand side. Kimberlow Lane overflow car park is a little further down this road on your right hand side.
Directions from York:
Follow the signs to Hull A1079 and Bridlington A166 until reaching Hull Road, continue to drive along Hull Road towards the A64 Take the right hand turning towards Grimston Bar Park and Ride and the Sports Village at the small roundabout go straight ahead until reaching either Kimberlow Lane or Field Lane car park.

Parking
Parking is available at Field Lane and Kimberlow Lane car parks which are only accessible via the Grimston Bar Park and Ride junction. Pay and display parking is in place please purchase a ticket and display this in your vehicle on arrival. Short stay parking for up to 45 minutes is free, longer stays are charged at £1 per hour and is free from 6pm – 8am and on weekends.

BY FOOT
From York Train Station From the train station it will take approximately 10 minutes to walk to King’s Manor. When exiting the train station via the main entrance turn left onto Station Avenue. As you leave the station you will walk past the Royal York Hotel on your left. Continue along the footpath as it bends round to the left going under the city walls. With Aviva on the right hand corner turn left and walk over Lendal bridge heading towards the city. Continue along Museum Street passing Costa coffee on your right. Continue walking along Museum Street heading towards the Minister. When you reach a 4 way intersection turn left onto St Leonards Place (Visit York will be on your right). Continue along St Leonards Place going past Theatre Royal on your right. When you reach the traffic lights turn left into the square and the entrance to the King’s Manor is through the black iron gates (when you turn into the square you will see York art gallery and the fountain).
BY BUS
York has fantastic bus links across the City. To reach King’s Manor you will need the number 2 or 59 and ensure the bus is heading towards the York Circular. Once onboard ensure you alight at Library Square and the entrance to King’s Manor will be in front of you.
BY TRAIN
York has good public transport links. Trains to York from London take just under two hours, with trains from Edinburgh taking just under two and a half hours. A taxi from the station to King’s Manor will cost around £5 and take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
BY CAR
Please note car parking at King’s Manor is for disabled guests only. Disabled parking is available free of charge however you must display you’re Blue or Orange Badge in the car windscreen at all times.

Directions from the A64:
Follow the outer ring road towards Scarborough (A64) and Bridlington (A166). Take the slip road for York West (A1036/also signposted Askham Bar Park & Ride). Continue along A1036/Tadcaster Road/Dringhouses and go through the first set of traffic lights. At the second set ensure you are in the left lane and continue. At the roundabout (after York College) take the third exit onto Tadcaster Road/Dringhouses. Continue along this road for approximately 1.8 miles (you will pass through several sets of traffic lights). You will pass the Premier Inn on your left, at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Queen Street/A1036. Continue along Queen Street, turns into Station Road (you will pass York Train Station and the Royal York on your left). Continue straight through the traffic lights) and then keep to the left lane as you pass under the walls . Continue over Lendal Bridge heading towards the City Centre (road changes from Station Road to Museum Street). You will come to a crossroads with Visit York on your right and York Minster in front of you. Turn Left onto St Leonard’s Place. Approximately 100 metres ahead on your left is the entrance to King’s Manor. You will need to cross into Exhibition Square to reach the entrance.
Park and Ride
Getting to King’s Manor by public transport couldn’t be easier. Coming by car from the A64 take the exit for York (West). Follow signs for Askham Bryan Park and Ride. From the park and ride take the bus and alight at York Train Station. From the train station you can either walk or catch the number 2 or 59 and alight at Library Square (Please see details above).
