Cars and Parking:
The University is easily accessible from major road links such as the A64 or 1079, we’d also suggest making use of the Grimston Bar Park and Ride service. Car parking on campus is pay and display, and can be limited. You can find out more about the charges via the University’s webpage. Parking is free at weekends and from 18:00 each evening through to 08:00 each morning.

Trains and Taxis:
There is a frequent, fast train service to York on the East Coast Main Line from London King’s Cross to Edinburgh. There is also a direct service between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport.
The University is a short bus (66) or taxi ride direct from the railway station. There is a bus stop and taxi rank just outside the main station entrance. A taxi from the railway station will take approximately 15 minutes while a bus will take around 22 minutes.
The university’s approved taxi provider is Streamline Taxis. Please note that Uber are not licensed within the city of York.
Buses:
You can travel between Campus East and West for free on several routes.
The 68 route is a dedicated free of charge campus shuttle, incorporating Halifax College and York Sports Village. Please note the 68 does go on to Grimston Bar Park and Ride however this is chargeable and not part of the free zone.

Cycling, E-scooters and Walking
It’s just a 15-minute bike ride or 30-minute walk from Campus West to the city centre. There are several off-road cycle paths and on-road cycle lanes offering safe access into and around York. Find out more about the cycling routes.
