what is York Fashion Week?
York Fashion Week is a celebration of fashion in our gorgeous city of York. The collective comes together twice a year with a week of runways, events, workshops, installations and more. YFW offers a stage for York’s creative talent to showcase their work, but also to support and encourage the young designers and brands that are driving the industry forward.
Where was it?
York Conferences and Events hosted a number of Events for York Fashion Week Autumn Winter 22/23 and Spring 23/24 at The Guildhall. Transforming the Guildhall’s Main Hall into an impressive multi day catwalk show with sound, lighting and projection was provided by the renowned: Reel Production Group. Within the Autumn series, The Guildhall also hosted York Fashion Week’s Wrap Party at the end of the week to celebrate the weeks’ success.
Kicking off week one of the Spring 23/24 series, we hosted a day of education workshops with students from schools across the region attending a series of talks in the Main Hall about careers in the Fashion Industry. The students went into breakout areas across the venue throughout the day and they were absolutely mesmerised by the impressive Council Chamber.
Every inch of the building was utilised for this event, with our Council Chamber, Meeting Rooms, Atrium and Committee Room utilised on show days, providing backstage, dressing room and breakout areas. At the front of the Guildhall, the courtyard space was used for arrival drinks, a photo booth, and to display a branded Bentley for Spring/Summer 23!
